Joshua Tree is a place of moments. The light changes and so does your spirit, the temperature changes radically at night and the stars are so close. This is a moment that can never be repainted or repeated on this earth. It's divine, it's a tiny slice of God's creation given to me - and you.
A nice way to start the weekend - going to see Rod Dreher http://www.anselmsociety.org/events/2015/10/30/how-dante-can-save-your-life.
Also, fellow Anselm Society authors and visual artists will have their works for viewing.

Every time I do a workshop with adoptive and/or foster moms and their kids (Connexus), it stays with me for days, weeks, probably forever. Their stories impact everyone in their world; like concentric circles created from a drop of water the mothers are the center. The Christ-like love they display will have far reaching impact that will never be known to them. It is an honor to know these people.
Doing The Mosaic Experience with these two women ignited my heart for Jesus all over again. A pastor and a healing prayer leader - both understand the depth of brokenness that we can experience and the beauty of it too.
I will start doing mosaic groups for healing again in September 2015. Please contact me if you're interested in learning more; the experience we have going through this metaphor of our spiritual lives is always uplifting and powerful.
I'll Fly Away is acrylic paint and mediums on Stone Henge paper, mounted on wood. For a good listen...here is a couple of links to I'll Fly Away written by Albert Brumley.
Most of the time I paint intuitively from whatever comes up in my mind and heart. This place is peace to me, where I'd like be. It reminds of Wyoming.
A lot of great things come from Cuba besides cigars, like Buena Vista Social Club, which I listened to while mosaicking this old, very solid, walnut cigar box. It's a gleaming, beautiful blue and green mosaicked piece of very functional art. On the outside you'll see stained glass, agates, pebbles, glass cabochons, millefiori, turquoise, and handcrafted ceramic pieces. I will line it for you if you'd like.
To sleep is to dream for me, I always have dreams. I had a dream that I fell into this painting and the next day I put the rabbit in because the dream reminded me of Alice in Wonderland. I used Golden gel mediums and metallic paints for this mixed media painting.

I love Colorado! There is always something in my art that is inspired by Colorado. This mixed mixed media mosaic guitar is mountains on the front, with the hope of spring on the back. I picked up a an old tag from the mines in Leadville and put it on the lower fret, other tesserae used - stained glass, agates, sliced rocks, fused glass, millefiori, vitreous tiles, ceramic with crackled glass, and love.
